Happy Birthday Hunter

It's all about YOU !!
Your turning "11" today
From the time you were born you were a very special little girl.
You always were a happy baby and how we loved you. No matter what you might have been doing life was always fun for you. Dressed up as Ann Geddys Baby (maybe that's where your love for halloween came in) how you loved to pose and still do.

With the highs came the lows: Like your first surgery to fix your fingers that your brother hurt with the weight machine. You were a trooper and figured out how to get around with a cast as big as you!

Hanging out at the beach with family and friends has become one of her favorite things to do. Hunter loves her brother Skyler and likes to do things with him.
You love to do crazy things like dye your hair black for Halloween. Your baptism day. How special that day was for you!

She enjoys karate and achieving new ranks.

How she loves to be in plays at school. From an oompa loompa in Willy Wonka. A dalmatian with her brother as the dog stealer, she loved being able to bite him in the end. To a flower in Jungle book. What fun she has had!! How you enjoy being able to goof around and act crazy. Hunter loves being with her family and friends.
Hunter I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Just remember how much you are loved. No matter how much you grow up you will always be our little girl.
Hunter today was all about you. Enjoy your very special day!

Battle of the Books

Hunter recieving her medal for reading all 12 books. Her trophy for 1st place and ribbon for going to district. You go girl!!!!
Hunter did battle of the books this year.
Her team included Julia and Shelby. They had to read 4 books for each battle. Their were 3 battles and they had to answer questions on the book as well as knowing the authors name and title of each book. Her team came in 1st in each battle. These three 5th grade girls beat out 12 other teams. Heading to District semi finals with a perfect score and representing Highland they were all so excited and ready. There they take the top 4 teams. The girls only missed one question and came in 5th by only 2 points. They did such a great job.
We are so proud of you Hunter and all your hard work.

Black Belt Ceremony

Doing a demo for his ceremony.

Skyler at his ceremony in his white belt waiting to receive his black belt. Going thru the line getting hugs from his instructors along with wise word of congradulations.

What an exciting time in his life to be able to achieve such a high honor. He has been doing karate since he was 5 1/2. He has worked hard and taken some time off to enjoy life. Who knew at just 13 he would accomplish so much.

Way to go Skyler!

Mesa Wrestling Championship

3rd Place
Skyler wrestled all year at Poston at 98# weight class. He went into the championship round undefeated. He was over weight by 1/2#. So that meant he had to wrestle at 105# class. Those 7 pounds make a difference. Skyler only lost one match to go on and take 3rd in State. He was so proud of his accomplishment and so are we.
He loves this sport and can't wait for freshmen year to begin. At least the wrestling part!
